Hi, I’m Katie. I’ve been a Registered Nurse for 17 years. After years of working overtime in the ER, to the point of burn out, always looking forward to that next trip to escape, I decided I needed to make a change. I knew I needed more balance in my life. I decided to create a life I didn’t feel the need to escape from.
I’ve always been passionate about travel and I started solo traveling off and on when I was just 18 years old. I love sharing my travel experiences with others through social media and by hosting group trips. Back in 2018 I planned my first group trip to Italy and I gained a talent for creating meaningful itineraries for small groups. My favorite part of this journey has been empowering other solo travelers to get out and see the world! Life is short. Take the trip!
Itinerary
Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica!
Your journey begins in San Jose, where we’ll meet in the early afternoon for a private transfer to the misty cloud forests of Monteverde. As the city gives way to rolling hills and lush greenery, excitement builds for the adventures ahead.
Once in Monteverde, explore the charming mountain town at your own pace – sip on local coffee, browse artisan shops, or simply soak in the tranquil atmosphere. For those craving adventure, a guided night walk offers a chance to uncover the forest’s nocturnal secrets, from glowing fungi to curious kinkajous. It’s the perfect start to an unforgettable Costa Rican escape!

Day 2 Monteverde Cloud Forest & Butterfly Gardens
Later, visit the Monteverde Butterfly Garden, where you’ll marvel at fluttering blue morphos, delicate glasswings, and learn about the fascinating lives of butterflies and other creatures. From the forest canopy to vibrant garden habitats, the day promises unforgettable encounters with Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity.

Day 3 La Fortuna - Arenal Lake & Canyoning
Day 3 starts with a picturesque boat ride across Arenal Lake, offering stunning views of the lush landscape and Arenal Volcano. Upon arrival in La Fortuna, the adventure kicks into high gear with a canyoning experience, where you’ll rappel down waterfalls, navigate jungle canyons, and immerse yourself in the rainforest’s wild beauty.

ARRIVAL:
The trip will begin at a designated meeting in San Jose point on day 1, before your private group transfer to Monteverde. More information on the exact location and meeting time will be provided once the trip is confirmed. Note that San Jose’s international airport is Juan Santamaría International Airport.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Be sure to check entry requirements based on the passport that you will be travelling with.
TRIP CONFIRMATION:
A trip is listed as PENDING until the minimum guest numbers are reached, at which point the trip becomes CONFIRMED. Guests will be notified when a trip becomes CONFIRMED.
