Shreya Kasireddi

Hi there! 👋 I’m a digital entrepreneur based in Paris. In the past 7 years, I’ve visited ±30 countries, often traveling solo and making friends (and memories) for life! Travel has been my biggest teacher, and inspired by that, I’m currently building an educational tourism company focused on experiential learning! Let’s travel together so we can learn, share, and grow – while having crazy amounts of fun and taking up adventures of a lifetime! 🤩

Itinerary

Day 1 Konnichiwa - Welcome to Tokyo!

Konnichiwa! Welcome to Japan. Your adventure kicks off in Tokyo, the vibrant capital of this ancient land, with a welcome meeting at 6 pm tonight. If you arrive early, take the opportunity to explore at your own pace. Visit the serene Sensoji Temple or the historic Imperial Palace, then enjoy lunch at the Avatar Robot Café, a purpose-driven enterprise where the waitstaff are remotely operated by individuals with disabilities, providing them with meaningful employment.

After the meeting, join a walk with Shreya through one of Tokyo’s bustling hubs, soaking in the city’s dynamic energy. In the evening, you might like to get to know your new travel companions over an optional dinner, setting the stage for the exciting journey ahead.

Day 2 Exploring Tokyo

This morning, head out to explore the vibrant Shibuya area with your group. Marvel at the bustling Shibuya Crossing, one of the busiest intersections in the world, and visit the statue of Hachiko, the famous loyal dog. Next, treat your senses at a depachika food hall, where you can find everything from bento boxes to elegant gifts. Consider grabbing lunch to enjoy in Yoyogi Park, which hosted events from Japan’s first Olympics, before visiting the tranquil Meiji Jingu Shrine.

In the afternoon, dive into the quirky youth pop culture of Harajuku. The rest of the day is free for you to explore as you wish. If you’re a cat lover, the Gotokuji Cat Temple is a must-visit. As night falls, take the chance to experience Tokyo’s vibrant nightlife, whether you prefer a bar with laser shows or belting out tunes at karaoke.

Day 3 Kanazawa

This morning, speed through central Japan on a bullet train bound for Kanazawa. This city is best known for Kenroku-en – the 17th-century gardens – and as the home of the Samurai. Here, you can find beautifully preserved Samurai and Geisha districts, historic temples and some awesome markets. After checking into your hotel, maybe explore Kenroku-en Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park. Tonight is a free evening so you can explore the streets at your own pace and maybe indulge in Kanazawa’s izakaya and famed fresh seafood.

Day 5 Kyoto

Today, take a scenic train ride through the Japanese Alps to Kyoto, the former imperial capital and one of Japan’s most beautiful cities. With over 2,000 temples, shrines, and gardens, Kyoto offers endless opportunities for exploration. Take advantage of the city’s efficient bus network to visit key sites like the magnificent, gold-plated Kinkaku-ji Temple in the northwest or Nijo Castle, renowned for its feudal-era ‘nightingale floors’ that squeak to alert inhabitants of approaching ninjas. In the early evening, join Shreya for a stroll through Kyoto’s famous Gion district, the heart of the city’s Geisha culture.

Since it’s your last night in Kyoto, be sure to savor some of the city’s renowned Kyo-ryori (Kyoto cuisine) or explore the vibrant Nishiki Market in the heart of the city.

Day 7 Hiroshima

Hiroshima is a bustling metropolis with a poignant history. This morning, you’ll travel there via bullet train. Upon arrival, your leader will guide you through the Peace Park and to the haunting ruins of the A-Bomb Dome, one of 11 structures left partially standing as a reminder of the devastation from the atomic bomb blast on August 6, 1945. The Peace Park features monuments and a sobering museum dedicated to Hiroshima and international peace. The afternoon is free for you to rest, relax, or further explore the city. In the evening, savor Hiroshima’s most famous dish—okonomiyaki, a savory pancake made with cabbage, meat, or seafood, grilled to perfection right in front of you.

Day 8 Hiroshima - Miyajima Island

Today you’ll jump on a local train and a ferry to spend the day at the nearby island of Miyajima with its famous ‘floating’ Torii Gate and the grand Itsukushima-jinja Shrine. Hike through the woods to the peak of Mt Misen for some stunning views of the Inland Sea stretching far out below you. Known as Japan’s unofficial culinary capital, Osaka’s bustling backstreets are brimming with restaurants and bars serving up delicious local fare. Discover the birthplace of kaiten-zushi (conveyor belt sushi), invented here by a sushi restaurant owner inspired by the nearby Asahi brewery’s conveyor belt system.

Upon arrival, join Shreya on a walking tour of the lively Dotombori district, famous for its shopping, entertainment, and dazzling neon lights. During your free time, consider taking a taiko drum lesson or experiencing a traditional Japanese Onsen. For dinner, savor Osaka’s specialty, takoyaki (grilled octopus), and immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant food scene.
