Day 1 Welcome to Vietnam | Hanoi

Xin chào! Welcome to Vietnam. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Please make sure to bring your insurance details and next-of-kin information, as we will be collecting this information to provide to your tour leader. Later, join us for a welcome dinner at KOTO café, a wonderful initiative offering vocational training to disadvantaged youth. Enjoy this uplifting start to your journey in Vietnam!

Special Information

It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting insurance details and next of kin information at this time. If you are going to be late please let your host know. Ask reception or look for a note in the lobby for more information on where the meeting will take place.

Day 2 Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise

Today, you will embark on a scenic drive to Tuan Chau Marina, which takes approximately 3-3.5 hours. From there, you will transfer to a tender and journey to Bai Tu Long Bay, a breathtaking World Heritage-listed destination known for its stunning natural beauty. Prepare to be mesmerized by the enchanting landscapes of this remarkable wonder of the world.

Upon arrival at the harbor, board our boat and set sail for a captivating cruise amidst the numerous limestone karst formations emerging from the emerald waters. Along the way, we will make a stop to explore a grotto adorned with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, adding to the magic of your experience in Bai Tu Long Bay.

Special Information

We recommend bringing an overnight bag for your essential belongings, as there may not be enough space on board to accommodate all passengers’ luggage. After spending the night on board, we will return to the same hotel in Hanoi, ensuring the safe storage of any remaining luggage until our return. This way, you can travel comfortably and enjoy your overnight experience without concerns about bulky luggage.

Day 3 Bai Tu Long Bay - Hanoi

You might want to rise early to catch the stunning sunrise before enjoying a leisurely morning sailing across Bai Tu Long Bay and returning to port. Relax during the drive back to Hanoi.

In the afternoon, embark on a half-day tour of Hanoi, visiting iconic sites such as the Temple of Literature, renowned as Vietnam’s first university. This site is popular among Vietnamese students for graduation photos.

The remainder of the afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. Consult your tour leader for personalized recommendations based on your interests—whether it’s food, history, or culture, they can guide you to tailor your experience perfectly. Consider taking a leisurely stroll through the city’s parks and lakes or renting a bike to discover the city’s best viewpoints.

Day 4 Hanoi - Hoi An

Enjoy your free time at leisure until it’s time to transfer to Noi Bai Airport for a short domestic flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, proceed to Hoi An to check in at the hotel.

After a brief rest, your tour leader will lead a walking tour of Hoi An’s Old Town. This city was a bustling trading port from the 17th century onward, showcasing architectural influences from Europe, China, and Vietnam. Today, the city retains its historic charm, preserved and restored to its original appearance from over a century ago. The guided tour includes visits to a historic house, the Japanese Covered Bridge, a Chinese assembly hall, and a museum. The remainder of the day is yours to explore the city’s ambience and engage in optional activities. Browse through street stalls offering paintings, woodwork, ceramics, lanterns, and more, or have a custom outfit tailored by one of Hoi An’s talented artisans, who can create beautiful garments within hours.

Later in the afternoon, prepare for a culinary delight. Join your tour leader for a visit to Tra Que, where you will tour a local chef’s garden. Handpick fresh herbs and vegetables to be used in your exclusive group dinner. Relax in the serene setting as your private chef prepares a delicious meal highlighting the best seasonal produce from the garden. This unique dining experience is a delightful way to immerse yourself in local flavors and hospitality.

Day 5 Explore Hoi An

Today is a day free for you to explore the city on your own. Consider taking a bike ride through the Hoi An countryside for an exciting glimpse into the daily life of Central Vietnamese farmers. Just 4 kilometers outside Hoi An lies Tra Que vegetable village, where you can immerse yourself in the heritage of this ancient town. Spend a half-day visiting this tranquil village and savoring its peaceful atmosphere.

Day 6 Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh

Bid farewell to the charming town as you board a short domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon arrival, embark on a visit to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels. This former Viet Cong stronghold offers a fascinating glimpse into the resourcefulness and resilience of the Vietnamese people during the Vietnam War.

Afterward, travel to the city center for lunch, if desired, before continuing on to the Reunification Palace. Formerly known as the Presidential Palace, this historic site was where South Vietnam surrendered at the end of the war. Following this, you have the option to explore the War Remnants Museum, which houses old military equipment including an F5A fighter and a UH1-Huey helicopter. Alternatively, you may choose to return to your hotel to plan your evening activities.

Day 7 Mekong Delta

This morning, embark on a day trip to explore the Mekong Delta. Board a private boat to Ben Tre to visit the coconut gardens and stop at a local home to sample tropical fruits and coconut jams. Afterwards, paddle in sampans (small rowing boats) past coconut trees along the Mekong Delta.

Take a tuk-tuk tour around the villages to learn about rural life and the coconut-based industries, including coconut candies, coconut oil, and coconut shell bowls. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the heart of the Delta, tasting regional specialties such as the famous elephant ear fish. Afterward, cruise the major waterways back to the Ben Tre boat pier, then return by bus to Ho Chi Minh City. This evening, consider heading out to sample some local specialties.

Day 10 Farewell to Vietnam

Today marks our final day together, so why not gather for breakfast with the group to exchange contact information and reminisce about our shared adventures? Check-out isn’t until noon, allowing you some free time to further explore Ho Chi Minh City at your own pace before we gather for a group transfer to Ho Chi Minh City Airport. Take this opportunity to soak in any last moments and savor the vibrant energy of this captivating city before bidding farewell to your travel companions and continuing on your journey.
