Important Notes
ARRIVAL INFORMATION
It’s best to arrive in Bangkok on the designated start date, or at least a few days earlier. There are no planned activities on the first day, so you have the flexibility to arrive at any time. If you happen to arrive early and are staying at our accommodation, we’ll arrange for airport pickup. We also recommend arranging your onward travel out of Thailand before your trip, as you may be asked to provide proof of onward travel when boarding your flight to Thailand.
AFTER THE TRIP
Your trip concludes on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan in southern Thailand. If you’re continuing your travels in Thailand, your group leader can help arrange your next steps. For those returning to Bangkok right after Thai Intro, there are a few options:
1. The fastest way back is to take a 45-minute ferry from Koh Phangan to Koh Samui, followed by a one-hour flight to Bangkok. The first ferry leaves around 7:30 am, so book your flight from Koh Samui to Bangkok for no earlier than 11 am. If you have an international flight from Bangkok, it should be scheduled for no earlier than 3:30 pm.
2. Another popular option is a 3.5-hour ferry ride to Surat Thani, then a one-hour flight to Bangkok. For this route, book your flight from Surat Thani to Bangkok no earlier than 1 pm, and an international flight from Bangkok no earlier than 6 pm.
3. If you have more time, you can also take the overnight train back to Bangkok.
VISAS
Most nationalities, including those from the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US, Scandinavia, and Brazil, typically receive a 30-day visa exemption upon arrival in Thailand at no cost. If you require a longer stay or are not eligible for this exemption, you can apply for a tourist visa at your nearest Thai consulate before traveling to Thailand.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel insurance is compulsory, and you will be asked to provide proof of your cover before your trip begins.
