Welcome to Costa Rica! We’ll coordinate the group’s arrival flights, and meet up at the Juan Santamaría International Airport for an included group transfer together to our first destination, Arenal.

This scenic drive offers glimpses of Costa Rica’s diverse landscapes, from lush rainforests to rolling hillsides, culminating in a warm welcome at Arenal Volcano Inn Hotel. Surrounded by lush gardens and stunning views towards the imposing Arenal Volcano, guests can unwind, enjoy a delicious meal, and prepare for the adventures that lie ahead!

Nestled in a breathtaking tropical rainforest, towering over 70 meters (230 ft.) tall, lies the captivating La Fortuna Waterfall – a must-visit destination in Costa Rica!

Your adventure commences with an invigorating hike down a stepped path flanked by impressive basaltic rock walls. The approximately 15-minute journey leads you to the stunning La Fortuna Waterfall, inviting you to swim or simply revel in its splendor through photography.

Accompanied by your knowledgeable guide, you’ll learn fascinating insights into the geological formations and the intriguing history behind the towering basalt columns that birthed this majestic waterfall. Fruit and water is provided during the day.

Today is a travel day, but fear not – the drive from Arenal to Monteverde is an adventure in itself – a scenic drive that winds through lush countryside and picturesque landscapes. The route takes you around the picturesque Lake Arenal, through charming rural communities, offering glimpses of local life and culture along the way.

Once around the lake, the drive continues through winding mountain roads, ascending into the misty heights of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. As you climb higher into the mountains, the landscape transforms, with dense forests shrouded in mist and clouds. The final stretch of the journey involves navigating narrow, winding roads that lead to the town of Santa Elena, the gateway to Monteverde.

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve stands as the largest of the private protected areas in this region, spanning over 25,730 acres (10,415 hectares) of pristine land.

Within its lush confines, over 500 species of orchids adorn towering trees, while vines, ferns, mosses, and lichens thrive in every available nook.

Hosting a rich biodiversity, the Monteverde Cloud Forest is sanctuary to over 130 species of mammals, 400 bird species – among them, the resplendent quetzal – 30 varieties of hummingbirds, 5,000 moth species, and a staggering 3,000 types of plants. It’s a veritable haven for aficionados of nature’s wonders.

Today we are trading the rainforest for an ocean adventure against the backdrop of Costa Rica’s stunning coastline.

Tamarindo Beach, nestled along the sun-kissed shores of Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, is a captivating blend of natural beauty and laid-back charm. Stretching along the Guanacaste province, this iconic beach is renowned for its pristine sands, azure waters, vibrant atmosphere AND waves suitable for both beginners and seasoned surfers.

We’ll make the most of this location with a group surfing lesson, covering surfing basics, from paddling techniques to mastering the perfect stance atop the board. Bottled water is provided.

Today you’ll have the morning free to explore beautiful Tamrindo Beach. Chill out, check out the local shops, have a swim, have another surf, or just relax in the sun!

In the afternoon, we’ll hop aboard a Tamarindo catamaran and cruise along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast, passing exotic bays, white sand beaches, and lush tropical jungles. Keep watch for dolphins, sea turtles, and flying fish!

We’ll anchor in a tranquil bay for snorkeling or a leisurely stroll on a deserted white sand beach while the crew prepares a delicious lunch buffet. As the sun sets, casting a warm glow over the sky, listen to the soothing sound of waves lapping against the catamaran – the perfect ending to a magic afternoon on the water!

Today is another drive day, as we head from Tamrindo Beach to Jacó Beach.

The drive winds through Costa Rica’s scenic Pacific coast, passing coastal towns and lush landscapes. We’ll traverse mountain roads offering panoramic views of valleys and ocean vistas. Jacó Beach is famous for its vibrant atmosphere and pristine sandy shores, perfect for surfing and relaxation – the afternoon and evening is yours to soak it all in!

Today we have an amazing day tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, promising an immersive journey into one of Costa Rica’s most stunning natural reserves, led by a local guide.

Here, you can encounter iconic wildlife species such as sloths, monkeys, and colorful tropical birds amidst the towering trees and vibrant vegetation.

The park also boasts pristine beaches, where you can relax on soft white sands, or swim/snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific Ocean, marveling at the rich marine life that thrives in the park’s protected coastal waters.

With breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding coastline, Manuel Antonio National Park offers a picturesque backdrop for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike, providing a memorable day filled with exploration, relaxation, and awe-inspiring encounters with Costa Rica’s natural wonders. Water and juices/snacks are provided.

Today is our last day – get up early for a final dip or a stroll along the beach if you’re keen, or enjoy a sleep-in. We’ll share breakfast together at the resort and chat about what an amazing adventure we’ve had together.

After breakfast we have a shared group transfer to San Jose Airport (approx 1.5hrs), where we will bid each other farewell and move on to our next destinations.
