Your journey kicks off with a welcoming gathering at 6 pm today. Should you arrive ahead of schedule, bravo! Why not acquaint yourself with this bustling metropolis of tuk-tuks, delectable street fare, and traditional khlong boats navigating the Chao Phraya River by taking a leisurely stroll? Following your pivotal meeting, consider immersing yourself in the distinctive tourist hub of Khao San Road alongside your newfound travel companions.

Day 2. Bangkok
Today’s itinerary commences with a visit to Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of the Dawn. This magnificent landmark of Bangkok, named after the Indian God of Dawn, Aruna, graces the western bank of the Chao Phraya River. Following this excursion, the afternoon unfolds with a plethora of optional activities to choose from. Perhaps venture adjacent to the awe-inspiring Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, or explore Wat Pho, renowned for housing Thailand’s largest reclining Buddha and the secrets of traditional Thai massage. Alternatively, consider embarking on a riverboat journey to Chinatown, immersing yourself in its bustling streets, or opt for a serene longtail boat ride along the Chao Phraya River to discover Bangkok’s famous canals, known as ‘khlongs’. Life along these waterways offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city streets. As evening descends, embark on an overnight train journey bound for Surat Thani, approximately lasting 13 hours.

Special information
Sleeper trains are clean and air-conditioned, and beds are multi-share compartments with bunk bed padded berths with sheets, pillow and blanket provided (although some people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet). Your baggage will travel in the carriage with you. There’s also a food and drink service available on board. Some may find the air conditioning on the train quite cold overnight so best to pack a jumper and some long pants.
Day 3. Ao Nang/Krabi
Upon arrival in Surat Thani this morning, proceed by bus for approximately 2.5 hours to the charming resort town of Ao Nang in Krabi Province. Ao Nang boasts a bustling main street adorned with open-air eateries, sidewalk shops, and inviting bars perfect for unwinding with a refreshing beer. Positioned conveniently, it serves as a gateway to embark on longtail boat adventures to scenic spots such as Railay Beach and the picturesque islands dotting the bay. With ample free time at your disposal, immerse yourself in the laid-back ambiance of southern Thailand while basking on its stunning beaches. Alternatively, delve into optional activities, such as a countryside cycling excursion, offering glimpses into local culture and culminating in a refreshing dip at a serene waterfall. For those seeking ultimate relaxation, indulge in a beachside massage or simply recline with a captivating book and a refreshing cocktail as the sun sets on the horizon—an epitome of pure bliss. Later in the afternoon, venture to Baan Na Teen village to partake in the art of Batik Making, an ancient dyeing technique, and share in a home-cooked feast with a local family. Embrace the opportunity to assist in preparing tonight’s meal, uncovering the savory secrets of southern Thai cuisine, and savor a dinner enriched by your culinary efforts.
