Itinerary
Day 1. Welcome to Hong Kong!
After checking into the group hotel we will head out to explore the local area and have a group dinner.
Day 2. Victoria Peak, Stanley Market & more
This morning, we will go to the Man Mo Temple. Man Mo Temple is a historic Taoist temple in Hong Kong known for its serene ambiance and vibrant red and gold interiors.
We will then go to the Upper Lascar Row. Upper Lascar Row, also known as “Cat Street” in Hong Kong, is a vibrant and bustling market street filled with antique shops, curios, and vintage treasures, making it a haven for collectors and treasure hunters.
Our next stop will be Art Lan. Art Lane is a dynamic and creative space in which art enthusiasts can immerse themselves in a diverse array of artistic expressions, showcasing the vibrant cultural scene of the city.
Victoria Peak is our next stop. The most famous tourist attraction in Hong Kong. We will take the one-way Peak Tram (in operation since 1888) to arrive at the top of the peak. It is the first motorized public transport after Hong Kong was colonized and the first funicular railway in Asia. The Peak Tower in the shape of a bowl standing on the top of Victoria Peak is a masterpiece of the famous British architect Terry Farrel. It is a good place for sightseeing, entertainment, dining, and shopping on Victoria Peak.
The next attraction today is Stanley Market. Stanley is a beautiful seaside village in the south of Hong Kong. It was once a British military stronghold and the administrative center of Hong Kong Island as well as the location of Hong Kong’s heavily guarded prison. Stanley Market is an open-air market with stalls and shops selling all kinds of goods including traditional Chinese crafts, antiques, rattan products, paintings and calligraphy works, clothing and fabrics are laid out end to end, so you can buy some souvenirs here.
Day 3. Big Buddha, Tai O Fishing Village, Lantau Island and more
After breakfast at our hotel, we will visit Lantau Island. Lantau Island is the largest island in Hong Kong. Its main peak, Phoenix Mountain, is the second-highest peak in Hong Kong. It is a great place to feel nature and relax. There are Po Lin Monastery and a Bronze Buddha on the top of the mountain. And you will take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car getting there. Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car is considered on of the best cable car experiences in the world. Along the way you will enjoy the view of Tung Chung city center and Hong Kong International Airport. Then you will pass Maitreya Mountain, overlooking the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and finally reach the Ngong Ping Bazaar and the Big Buddha. The Big Buddha is the largest open-air bronze seated Buddha statue in the world, made of 202 pieces of bronze welded together. The total height of the Buddha statue, lotus seat, and base is about 34 meters. The Buddha statue has the sculpture characteristics during the heyday of Sui and Tang Dynasty Buddhism. The Buddha statue is designed according to the thirty-two phases of the Buddhist scriptures, and its face refers to the Lushna Buddha in the Longmen Grottoes.
After that, we will visit the Tai O Fishing Village. Put aside the bustling cities and crowds. Come to Tai O Fishing Village to experience a different fisherman culture. Tai O Fishing Village is like a microcosm of the earliest Hong Kong’s small fishing village. Here you will see sheds built on the water. Some sampans are floating on the water. Everything here looks very historical. After that, we will drive back to your hotel before heading out to dinner and to explore the city some more.
