This carefully curated adventure blends Japan’s ancient history with its vibrant modern culture. Optional Pre-Trip Osaka & Hiroshima Extension (4 Days)

21–24 May 2026 – Osaka & Hiroshima Pre-Tour Extension

This four-day journey begins and ends in Osaka and includes a two-night excursion to Hiroshima via bullet train. Discover the city’s poignant history, serene landscapes, and rich culinary culture. Highlights include the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, the A-Bomb Dome, and the famous “floating” torii gate on Miyajima Island before returning to Osaka to join the main group.

Day 1 – Arrive in Osaka

  • Arrive in Osaka and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and settle into the Kansai region.

Day 2 – Hiroshima & Peace Memorial Park

  • Take the bullet train to Hiroshima to visit the moving Peace Memorial Park and Museum and the A-Bomb Dome, finishing the day with dinner featuring Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki.

Day 3 – Miyajima Island & Local Delicacies

  • Travel to picturesque Miyajima Island to see the iconic “floating” torii gate and enjoy a hands-on class making the region’s famous sweet, momiji manju.

Day 4 – Return to Osaka

  • Board the bullet train back to Osaka, enjoy some leisure time, and then join the main group for the welcome meeting and dinner.

Perfect for guests flying into Tokyo, this four-day extension offers the ideal blend of big-city energy and tranquil natural beauty. Experience the vibrant streets of Tokyo, the mystical Aokigahara Forest, and the breathtaking scenery of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi before travelling by bullet train to Osaka to join the main tour.

Day 1 – Arrive in Tokyo

  • Check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore Tokyo’s lively neighbourhoods.

Day 2 – Aokigahara Forest & Traditional Ryokan Stay

  • Travel by private coach to Kawaguchiko at the base of Mt. Fuji. Explore the mysterious Aokigahara Forest before relaxing in a traditional Japanese ryokan with onsen hot springs and dinner.

Day 3 – Lake Kawaguchi & Mt. Tenjo Views

  • Cruise across Lake Kawaguchi, then ride the Mt. Tenjo cable car for spectacular panoramic views of Mt. Fuji.

30 May – 2 June 2026 – In-Depth Tokyo Otaku Adventure: A 4-Day Manga & Anime Tour

Dive deep into Tokyo’s vibrant pop-culture scene with this four-day adventure exploring the worlds of manga, anime, and gaming. Enjoy three nights of central accommodation with breakfast, seamless metro and coach transport, and the guidance of an expert English-speaking tour leader.

Day 1 – Akihabara & Themed Café Experience

  • After breakfast (from the main tour), head straight into the heart of Akihabara to explore anime shops and arcades, wrapping up with a fun Themed Café Experience.

Day 2 – Nakano Broadway & Gotokuji Temple

  • Browse the collector’s paradise of Nakano Broadway in the morning, then visit Gotokuji Temple, birthplace of Japan’s beloved Lucky Cat.

Day 3 – Shinjuku & Shibuya Highlights

  • See Shinjuku’s Godzilla Head and official store, then head to Shibuya for the iconic Scramble Crossing and an unforgettable evening of Mario Kart Street Go-Karting (IDP required).

Day 1 - Sunday May 24th 2026 Arrival in Osaka

Welcome to Japan! Your adventure begins in Osaka today. After arriving at either Kansai Airport or Osaka Station, please head to your hotel. Further arrival details will be provided closer to departure.

If you arrive early or are already in Japan, optional activities will be available and confirmed soon. At 5:00 p.m., meet the group for a welcome meeting and sign-in, followed by a celebratory welcome dinner in Osaka to kick off your trip with a taste of regional cuisine.

Day 2 - Monday May 25th 2026 Osaka to Asuka

After breakfast, travel by private coach to the scenic Asuka region, where ancient tombs, mysterious megaliths, and rural landscapes await. Begin at the Ishibutai Tumulus, believed to be the tomb of the powerful statesman Soga no Umako, before exploring the Asuka Megalith Circuit. Highlights include the Masuda-no-Iwafune (Rock Ship), Oni-no-Manaita and Oni-no-Setchin (Devil’s Chopping Board and Toilet), Kame-ishi (Turtle Stone), and Sakafune-ishi (Sake Boat Stone).

In the afternoon, visit the Takamatsuzuka Kofun and Kitora Kofun, both known for their 7th-century murals and astronomical artwork, with access to interpretation centers. Stop at Asuka-dera Temple, Japan’s first Buddhist temple, and the Asuka Historical Museum for deeper insights. Return to Osaka for dinner, with the option to join your hosts for an evening wander in Shinsekai, a lively retro district lit by the Tsutenkaku Tower and known for its kushikatsu dining.

Day 3 - Tuesday May 26th 2026 Exploring Osaka’s Hidden Treasures

Begin the morning at Osaka Castle, exploring its massive stone walls and the famous Octopus Stone near Sakuramon Gate. Learn about the castle’s turbulent history and enjoy the option of entering the main keep, now a museum, to view exhibitions.

After lunch, travel by private coach to Sakai. Enjoy panoramic views of the giant keyhole-shaped tombs from a nearby observation point and explore the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group (UNESCO World Heritage site). The Sakai City Museum rounds out the day’s exploration. 

In the evening, we’ll regroup for a guided walking tour of Dotonbori, one of Osaka’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Packed with neon lights, lively street food stalls, and an incredible energy, Dotonbori is a true food lover’s paradise and the perfect way to experience the city’s nightlife.

Day 4 - Wednesday May 27th 2026 Ishi-no-Hoden & Himeji Castle

Today contrasts mystery and history. First, visit Ishi-no-Hoden, a vast and enigmatic megalith whose origins and purpose remain unknown. Then travel to Himeji Castle, Japan’s best-preserved feudal fortress, admired for its brilliant white walls and samurai-era architecture.

Return to Osaka in the late afternoon. In the evening, join your hosts on an optional visit to Den-Den Town, Osaka’s answer to Akihabara, with streets full of anime, pop culture, and electronics shops.

Day 5 - Thursday May 28th 2026 Osaka to Tokyo by Bullet Train

After breakfast, transfer by private coach to the station for a high-speed Shinkansen ride to Tokyo. Upon arrival, check into your hotel before splitting into two smaller groups for a personalized circuit of the city.

Explore Tsukiji Outer Market, sample fresh seafood, enjoy views from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and visit Sensoji Temple through the Kaminarimon Gate. Stroll down Nakamise-dori, a bustling street filled with snacks and souvenirs. In the late afternoon, the groups reunite at the hotel, and the evening is free to explore.

Day 6 - Friday May 29th 2026 Tokyo Exploration

This morning, visit the Imperial Palace grounds, including the serene East Garden and Nijubashi Bridge, where Edo Castle once stood. Learn about the history of Japan’s Imperial Family and take in the tranquil beauty of the site.

In the afternoon, you may continue by private coach to Odaiba, Tokyo’s futuristic waterfront district filled with entertainment, shopping, and spectacular views of the Rainbow Bridge. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant with your group.

ARRIVAL:
You will need to make sure your travel plans allow you to arrive at the meeting point by the scheduled guest meeting time. More information on this will be provided once the trip is confirmed. Your arrival airport is either Kansai International Airport (KIX) for international, or Osaka Itami Airport (ITM) for domestic, or alternatively Osaka Station by train.

DEPARTURE:
On the final day, you are free to depart at any time. Your departure airport is Tokyo – Haneda International Airport (HND) or Tokyo Narida Airport (NRT).

AIRPORT TRANSFERS:
