Finding Images & Videos to Promote Your Best In Travel Group Trip

Written by Rob Embury - Best In Travel

If you’re setting up your trip page and wondering where to find beautiful visuals – or how to promote your trip effectively – you’re in the right place. Even if you haven’t been to the destination before, there’s no need to stress (and definitely no need to Photoshop yourself into someone else’s image!).

There are plenty of tools and tips to help you bring your trip to life for your audience.

📸 Use the Right Stock Image & Video Platforms

High-quality content makes a huge difference when it comes to building trust and excitement. Great visuals help your audience picture themselves in the destination and boost confidence in the professionalism of your trip. Here are our top picks:

  • Unsplash – One of the best sources for destination photography. You’ll find thousands of beautiful, high-resolution images from creators around the world. Unsplash has both free and paid content, but the free library alone offers more than enough variety and quality for most trip pages.
  • Pexels – If you’re looking to add movement and life to your content, we recommend Pexels. It offers a large collection of royalty-free video clips – think ocean waves, drone shots over cities, people hiking through epic landscapes – with many completely free to use (like Unsplash, there is also some paid content).
  • Canva – Canva is your all-in-one design toolkit. The free version lets you create professional graphics using drag-and-drop templates, text overlays, icons and animations. A paid Canva Pro account unlocks access to an extensive library of premium images, videos, fonts and templates – and there’s a free trial if you want to try it first. Canva is especially handy for creating Instagram stories, trip promo graphics, highlight covers and branded assets.

These platforms are not only incredibly helpful – they’re also safe to use legally, meaning you won’t run into copyright issues down the track.

🚫 What to avoid:

  • Don’t use images found through Google, Pinterest or Instagram unless they are your own or you’ve received explicit written permission from the creator.
  • Never take screenshots of online images or videos, even if you credit the original source.
  • Avoid using AI-generated or commercial-looking photos that don’t match the real feel of the trip.

Your visuals should build trust and excitement – not create legal risk or misrepresent the experience.

Note that we already have an extensive library of stock content on file that we can drop into your trip page, but you can absolutely feel free to find your own and send them to us – just make sure you notify us where each of the images came from (so that we can appropriately attribute them where required).

✨ You Don’t Need to Have Been There

Here’s something a lot of new trip hosts worry about: “What if I haven’t been to the destination yet?”

Good news – you don’t need to have visited the place beforehand to create a great trip page. In fact, many successful trips are planned this way. Thanks to high-quality stock imagery, you can curate a beautiful, accurate visual story without needing to fake it or insert yourself into photos.

Stock imagery allows you to represent the feel of the destination – the beaches, landscapes, cafes, streetscapes, or cultural moments that reflect the vibe of your itinerary. Focus on creating excitement about what guests will experience, rather than pretending you’ve been (we don’t recommend Photoshopping yourself into images of locations you haven’t been to).

Be authentic, stay excited, and remember – your energy and curation are what your audience is really connecting with.

💡 Pro tip: Use the fact that you haven’t been there before as a marketing angle – convey your excitement that you’ll be experiencing this for the first time together with your audience there to share in the excitement!

📢 Content Ideas That Will Help Sell Your Trip

Once your page is live, it’s time to start promoting! Here are some content ideas to help get your audience on board and drive bookings:

  • Instagram Stories & Highlights – Use Canva to create sleek, on-brand graphics with destination images, countdowns, FAQs and personal messages. Save them in a highlight titled “Trip” or “Join Me”.
  • Behind-the-scenes posts – Share the process: picking the location, designing the experience, planning the activities. This builds excitement and trust.
  • Destination inspiration – Post about cool things to do, see or eat in the destination. Even if you haven’t been, you can use tips from blogs, tourism sites or trusted local partners.
  • Q&As and Polls – Ask your community what they’d love to experience, what’s holding them back, or who they’d travel with. Keep it conversational.
  • Video reels – Use Pexels clips or Canva animations to create mood reels showing the vibe of the trip. These perform well and help people imagine being there.
  • Personal voice – Share why you’re running this trip, what it means to you, and how you want your guests to feel. This emotional connection is a powerful sales tool.
  • Urgency and exclusivity – Remind your followers how many spots are left, when early bird pricing ends, or that it’s a once-a-year opportunity. FOMO works.

The most important thing is to stay consistent. Talk about your trip often – not just once. People might need a few reminders before they commit, and each post helps build momentum.
