Beginning in Shanghai – a city where futuristic towers rise beside tree-lined boulevards of the old French Concession – you’ll dive straight into China’s contrasts, where modern innovation meets centuries of tradition.

Venture inland by high-speed train to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), whose jagged peaks and swirling mists have inspired poets and painters for generations. Wander through ancient UNESCO-listed villages where cobbled alleys, whitewashed walls, and intricate woodwork tell stories of China’s rich and enduring past.

Your journey concludes in the serene region of Wuyuan, often called the most beautiful countryside in China. Here, vibrant fields, hillside terraces, and master artisans bring the country’s rural charm to life. Itinerary

Day 1 Welcome to Shanghai

Your adventure begins in Shanghai, one of Asia’s most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities. After arriving and settling into your hotel, take some time to rest or explore the vibrant streets nearby.

In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner hosted by Nicole and your local guide – the perfect chance to relax, get to know your fellow travelers, and toast the exciting week ahead.

Day 2 Shanghai City Immersion

Discover the many faces of Shanghai today as you explore its historic and modern highlights. Start with a stroll through Fuxing Park, where locals practice tai chi and sip morning tea. Continue into the leafy Former French Concession, known for its colonial architecture and stylish cafes.

Then wander the lively creative lanes of Tianzifang and the designer boutiques of Xintiandi before ascending the Shanghai Tower for panoramic skyline views. End your day with a scenic walk along The Bund, admiring its iconic blend of old and new architecture lining the Huangpu River.

Day 3 Travel to Huangshan & Village Culture

This morning, board a high-speed train to Huangshan, one of China’s most scenic regions. Upon arrival, travel to Bishan Village, where you’ll learn to make traditional black sesame and peanut pastries – a delicious insight into rural culinary traditions.

Later, explore Xidi Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, ancient alleyways, and graceful stone bridges.

Day 4 Hiking the Yellow Mountain

Set out for a full day of discovery on the spectacular Huangshan (Yellow Mountain). Ride the Yungu Cableway to begin your ascent, where sweeping vistas of granite peaks, pine forests, and swirling clouds await.

Hike through the Xihai Grand Canyon, famed for its “sea of clouds” and otherworldly formations. After a day surrounded by breathtaking scenery, descend by cable car and return to your accommodation.

Day 5 Drive to Wuyuan & Huangling Village

Enjoy a scenic journey to Wuyuan, often described as one of China’s most beautiful rural regions. Here, you’ll visit Huangling Village, perched on a hillside and famed for its colorful “Dry Crops in Autumn” tradition – where villagers dry peppers, corn, and other produce on wooden terraces that create a vivid patchwork of color.

Wander through the charming lanes and traditional homes, admiring the architecture and stunning countryside views.

Day 6 Wuyuan’s Ancient Crafts

Step back in time today as you explore Longwei Village, celebrated for its beautifully preserved Hui-style architecture and as the birthplace of the Longwei inkstone, a treasured element of traditional Chinese calligraphy.

Continue to the Jialu Oil-Paper Umbrella Workshop, where you’ll witness artisans handcrafting these delicate umbrellas using time-honored methods – a craft that beautifully symbolizes both protection and grace in Chinese culture.

Day 7 Return to Shanghai & Farewell

Take a morning high-speed train back to Shanghai and settle into your hotel for a relaxed afternoon. Perhaps explore the city’s shops and cafes, or enjoy a final stroll along The Bund.

Tonight, reunite with your group for a memorable Farewell Dinner, celebrating the week’s adventures and the friendships made along the way.

Day 8 Fond Farewell

ARRIVAL:
You will need to make sure your travel plans allow you to arrive at the meeting point by the scheduled guest meeting time. More information on this will be provided once the trip is confirmed. Your arrival airport is Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG).

DEPARTURE:
On the final day, you are free to depart at any time. Your departure airport is Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG).
