The Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage Walk with Girl Camper

Follow one of Europe’s most iconic pilgrimage routes on this unforgettable journey along the Portuguese Coastal Camino, hosted by Lesa McDermott from Girl Camper. With the support of knowledgeable local guides and fellow travellers by your side, this experience blends rewarding walking days with cultural discovery, beautiful landscapes, and the camaraderie that naturally forms when people share a trail together.

Your journey begins along Spain’s rugged Atlantic coastline, where sandy beaches, fishing villages, and sweeping ocean views set the tone for the days ahead. From there, the Camino gradually leads inland through Galicia’s green countryside, passing vineyards, stone villages, quiet farmland, and shady forest paths. Along the way you will explore charming historic towns such as Pontevedra, take a well earned pause to rest and wander its medieval streets, and continue through traditional Galician landscapes to places rich in Camino history like Padrón. In Caldas de Reis, a town famous for its thermal springs since Roman times, pilgrims have long paused to soothe tired legs before continuing toward Santiago.

Walking the Camino is about far more than reaching the destination. The rhythm of the trail, the shared conversations, and the simple ritual of stamping your pilgrim passport create a journey that unfolds step by step. With a support vehicle available for flexibility along the route, each traveller can find their own pace while remaining part of the group experience. The emotion builds until the unforgettable moment you enter Obradoiro Square in Santiago de Compostela, where the cathedral stands as the symbolic finish of the pilgrimage. That evening, you celebrate together over a final dinner, marking not just the completion of the walk, but the friendships, stories, and personal achievement gained along the way.
