Treasures of the Rhine: European River Cruise with Left Coast Revivals
Join Laura and Jesse Caldwell of Left Coast Revivals for a thoughtfully curated European river cruise designed for vintage lovers, treasure hunters and design driven travellers. This is more than a Rhine itinerary – it is a journey through four countries where iconic flea markets, historic towns and vineyard covered hillsides come together in one unforgettable experience. Each destination has been chosen with intention, blending the thrill of the hunt with cultural depth and regional character.
Beginning in Amsterdam, the adventure starts with legendary markets before boarding our river ship and travelling through the Netherlands, Germany and France, finishing in Switzerland. From Cologne’s creative energy to the castles of the Rhine Gorge, from wine country in Rüdesheim to the medieval streets of Heidelberg and the brocantes of Strasbourg, every stop offers opportunities to explore, discover and connect. Thoughtfully planned excursions sit alongside time to browse, wander and shop at your own pace.
With Laura and Jesse leading the way, this cruise is as much about community as it is about destination. Expect early morning market missions, curated local experiences, shared meals and plenty of conversation about favourite finds. It is a European river journey shaped by curiosity, craftsmanship and the shared joy of uncovering something special in remarkable places.
Your home on the river for this cruise is AMASofia, a brand new river cruise vessel launching in Spring 2026, bringing a fresh and contemporary feel to river cruising with a signature blend of elegance and warmth. Accommodating up to 156 guests, the vessel features twin balcony staterooms, a Sun Deck pool with swim up bar, multiple dining venues including The Chef’s Table, a fitness room, complimentary bicycles for exploring ashore and inviting spaces designed for both relaxation and connection, all delivered with attentive service throughout your journey along the Rhine. Day 2 Amsterdam Markets & Boarding the AMASofia
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel while your luggage is transferred directly to our river vessel, allowing you to enjoy the morning hands free. We head into the city for our first official market experience at Waterlooplein Market, Amsterdam’s iconic open air flea market. Browse vintage clothing, antiques, vinyl records and eclectic finds in a lively, relaxed setting that perfectly sets the tone for the journey ahead.
If our dates coincide with IJ Hallen, we will also visit this expansive indoor market, widely regarded as one of the largest flea markets in Europe. Housed in former industrial halls, it offers an impressive range of vendors and serious treasure hunting potential. If IJ Hallen is not operating during our stay, a carefully selected alternative Amsterdam market will be included to ensure the morning remains focused on quality browsing and discovery.
Later, we transfer to board AMASofia and settle into your stateroom before gathering for dinner as we begin cruising towards Düsseldorf.

Today we explore one of Cologne’s best monthly flea markets, selected based on what is operating during our visit. Expect vintage finds, quirky antiques and unexpected treasures. Alternatively, choose a guided excursion to explore Düsseldorf with an Altbier tasting, or join a walking tour through Cologne’s Old Town visiting the Rathaus, Fishmarkt and Great St. Martin Church. The evening brings us back onboard to share stories over dinner.
