South African Adventure – Kruger NP to Victoria Falls with @offtheclocknurse

Welcome to South Africa! Upon your arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, you’ll be transferred to the lodge nestled in the greater Kruger area. Pezulu Tree House Lodge is a boutique game lodge in the Greater Kruger area near Hoedspruit, South Africa. Designed to offer a personal experience, Pezulu is ideal for both adventure and relaxation. With easy access to the Panorama Route and Kruger National Park, it’s a one-of-a-kind escape you won’t forget.

After you have settled in, we have an afternoon bush walk within the surrounds on the property (approx 4pm). Guided by a qualified nature guide, we learn about nature’s finer details like bird, tree and spoor identification.

Get ready for an exhilarating two-day adventure exploring the legendary Kruger National Park! We’ll rise early and embark on our journey into one of Southern Africa’s largest and most iconic game reserves. Home to over 500 bird species, 100 types of reptiles, and 150 mammal species – including the Big Five and the elusive African wild dog – Kruger promises an unforgettable wildlife experience.

As soon as we enter the park, the excitement begins. We’ll venture into prime game-viewing areas, eagerly scanning the landscape for a chance to spot some of the park’s incredible wildlife. After a thrilling start, we’ll enjoy breakfast at a scenic picnic spot before continuing our journey through the park, where the entire day will be dedicated to game viewing, bird watching, and pausing at various waterholes along the way.

By late afternoon, we’ll return to the lodge, filled with awe and stories of the wild.

Today in the morning we’ll head to Nelspruit Airport for your included flights to Victoria Falls.

In the afternoon, you’ll be taken to an authentic rural village, located about 20km from Victoria Falls town. Here, you’ll have the unique opportunity to observe local villagers as they go about their daily routines, offering a genuine glimpse into rural life. You might even get the chance to participate in some of their day-to-day activities, such as tending fields or preparing food. You’ll also meet the village chief, who will share insights into their traditional way of life.

• We are booked for dinner at the Lookout Cafe at 1700. A return shuttle from the hotel has been organised (note this meal is not included).

Explore the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls with a knowledgeable local guide. Known as Mosi oa Tunya, or the ‘smoke that thunders’, this natural wonder is an enormous curtain of water nearly a mile wide, plunging 108 meters into a narrow gorge below. During the wet season, the falls transform into a powerful torrent, with mist rising up to 400 meters, visible from miles away. In the dry season, the view is clearer, revealing small islets in the river below.

In the afternoon, we have time to relax or the option of an exciting gorge swing experience for those keen!

But Chobe offers more than just elephants. The park is a thriving ecosystem teeming with diverse wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, leopards, and other iconic species that call Chobe home.
