Leah Helmbrecht
Hi, my name is Leah, also known as @offtheclocknurse. My passion for travel began when I started working as a Travel Operating Room Nurse, moving to different states throughout the US every 13 weeks. I was allotted the time off and finances to take a month off in between contracts to solo explore different countries. Currently, I am working permanently in Colorado, USA, as a Forensic Nurse Examiner. My hope for hosting trips is to encourage others to break out of their comfort zone, embrace adventure, and learn about different cultures. Won’t you join me?

Day 2 Rosario Monarch Butterfly Reserve & Valle de Bravo
After an early breakfast, set off for an unforgettable visit to the El Rosario Monarch Butterfly Reserve in Michoacán (approx. 3.5 hrs / 120 miles). This UNESCO-listed site is home to one of nature’s greatest shows – millions of monarch butterflies clustered in the trees or suspended mid-air like floating jewels.
Explore the reserve on foot or horseback, accompanied by knowledgeable local guides who’ll share stories of the monarchs’ remarkable migration and the efforts to preserve their fragile habitat.
Later, travel to Valle de Bravo (approx. 2.25 hrs / 70 miles), a scenic lakeside town surrounded by forested hills. Stroll through cobbled streets, soak in the views, and check into your hotel for a peaceful evening
🏨 Hotel: Hotel Mesón de las Leyendas or similar, Valle de Bravo
🍽️ Included meals: Breakfast
Day 3 Discover Valle de Bravo
Ease into the morning with a leisurely breakfast, then join a guided walking tour through Valle de Bravo’s historic center. Visit the impressive San Francisco de Asís Church and enjoy breathtaking vistas over Lake Avándaro.
Your afternoon is free to explore at your own pace – browse artisan markets, take a peaceful lakeside walk, or simply unwind and enjoy the town’s pueblo mágico charm.
